When Mother Earth is SERIOUSLY showing off, she shows us riches like the Turquoise that comes from the McGinnis Mine. The McGinis Mine is in Nevada, and the Turquoise has been mined in small quantities since the 1930's.
This long, fabulous necklace features McGinnis Turquoise rondelles measuring from 3mm at the very ends, graduating in size to approximately 6mm, with 8mm doubles paired throughout. These are an amazing medley of colors, bright sky blue with dark blue, gold, brown, and quartz running in ribbons. The stones are hand-knotted with gray Griffin Power Nylon. A truly incredible collector's piece of Turquoise jewelry - an heirloom to pass along through the ages!
This necklace measures 24.5", finished with a delicate sterling silver toggle, sterling crimp covers and silver french wire.
Nerding out about Turquoise: There is a LOT of information about Turquoise on the net - and a lot of shady dealers selling dyed Howlite, not disclosing origins - the works! If you are like me, and you want to know exactly what you are getting, dig (pun intended) around!
